Reinstalling the LCA Software

There are two cases:

• Updating the LCA software.

• Reinstalling the LCA software completely, for example after

recovering the network analyzer

Updating the LCA software

1 Before updating the software, you must remove the existing

software.

a In Windows’ Settings, go to the Control Panel and select

Add or Remove Programs.

b Select the LCA application from the list of programs.

c Remove the program.

2 Start the LCA setup software

LCAInstaller.msi

3 Follow the instructions on the screen.

We recommend you use the default settings.

Reinstalling the LCA software

Pre-installing the framework and drivers

Before reconnecting the optical test set to the network analyzer
(that is, with the USB cable disconnected or before powering up
the optical test set), you need to pre-install the USB drivers.

4 On the CD-ROM supplied with the LCA, in the directory

\Reinstallation\USB Driver

, start the driver installation software

USB Setup.exe



When the setup dialog closes, the pre-installation is finished.

5 Make sure the optical test set is connected by USB to the

network analyzer.

6 Turn on the power of the optical test set.

The network analyzer will find the new hardware and will
finish the installation of the drivers.

When asked if windows should connect to “Windows
Update”, answer “No, not this time”.
