*STB?
The *STB (status byte) query returns the current value of the instrument’s status
byte.
Syntax
*STB?
Description
The master summary status (MSS) bit 6 indicates whether or not the device has at
least one reason for requesting service. When you read the status byte register, the
value returned is the total of the bit weights of all of the bits set to one at the time
you read the byte. The following table shows each bit in the status byte register and
its bit weight. The *STB? query does not affect the contents of the status byte regis-
ter.
