Useful functions for broadcast reception

Each time the key is pressed, the operation mode changes.

When you press the ACTIVE RECEPTION key, the AR indicator
flashes, and the tuner w ill automatically sw itch the IF BAND, RF
ATT and ANT A/ B functions to select the best conditions for recep-
tion.  If, at this time, you change the receiving frequency by adjust-
ing the tuning UP/ DOWN or calling up preset broadcast stations,
you w ill alw ays achieve optimum broadcast w ave reception.
Normally leave the ACTIVE RECEPTION mode ON.
During manual operation of IF BAND, RF ATT and ANT A/ B func-
tions, the ACTIV RECEPTION mode is set to OFF.

sw itch is turned on.

When there is an adjacent channel w ith strong radio w aves, RF
reciprocal modulation, mixed modulation distortion easily occurs.
By sw itching the RF ATT key ON the RF reciprocal modulation
and mixed modulation can be minimized.

Even w hen the key is set to OFF, if the ACTIVE RECEPTION mode
is ON, it w ill w ork automatically.

This function lets you set the intermediate frequency pass band to
WIDE (w ide band), or NARROW (narrow  band).

WIDE:

Normally set the IF BAND to WIDE. This setting allow s
reception of good quality sound w ith minimal distortion.

NARROW: If signal reception is poor due to interference from a neigh-

bouring station w hen the IF BAND is set to WIDE, change
the IF BAND setting to NARROW.

If the ACTIVE RECEPTION mode is set to ON, WIDE or NARROW w ill

be sw itched over automatically.

When using 2 exterior antennas, or, an external antenna w ith an
already established antenna (cable broadcast reception antenna
etc.), aligning to the respective set up and reception statuses, A
or B can be sw itched.

If the ACTIVE RECEPTION mode is set to ON, the key w ill sw itch A/
B automatically.

By pressing this key, the automatic stereo function and the auto-
matic tuning function are both sw itched over at the same time

AUTO/ STEREO (STEREO lit during stereo reception):
Usually, set the sw itch to AUTO/ STEREO.
The tuner automatically sw itches betw een stereo and monaural
receptions according to the program being received.
The tuner automatically scans the frequency and stops w hen a
station is tuned in.

HIGH BLEND (available for the FM  band w ith KTF-3010 only):
STEREO lit during stereo reception
This function reduces audible noise in the middle band and above
w hen receiving w eak radio w aves during stereo broadcasts.  The
tuner automatically scans the frequency and stops w hen a sta-
tion is tuned in.

M ANUAL/ M ONO:
Set the sw itch to OFF w hen noise interferes due to w eak radio
w aves in the stereo reception. The stereo broadcast is received in
monaural and the noise w ill be reduced. When you w ant to tune
in a station w ith w eak radio w aves w hich the auto tuning func-
tion can not pick up, select the manual tuning mode.
