WHEN LAYING NEW PEAT OR GRASS SEEDS
•
Connect the roller behind the towing vehicle, follow the correct connection and filling
procedure for the roller if extra weight is required.
•
Check the area to be levelled. Make sure that there are no stones protruding in the work
area. Clear the area of large stones or foreign objects.
•
Start dragging the roller across the ground in long straight lines.
•
Make sure that the ground is level. Some areas may need to be done in a few stages.
•
Continue to pull the roller over the area until the surface is smooth and even.
•
Place turf or seeds over the area.
•
Pull the roller over the newly laid peat/seed to help the grass roots or seeds make good
contact with the soil.
•
Keep the area well-watered until the peat or seeds grow well.
WHEN SMOOTHING THE GRASS MAT
•
Dig about 7–10 cm around the bulged area or hole. Remove the grass and fill the hole
with soil at the same level with the lawn. Put the grass back in place.
•
Pull the roller over the area until it is smooth and even with grass infill. If the area does not
appear to be even, try watering and then drag the roller over the area again. Repeat the
same procedure for each bump.
