Appendix B: Award BIOS Setup Utility
Typematic Rate (Chars/Sec)
This field allows you to select the rate at which the keys are accelerated.
Typematic Delay (Msec)
This field allows you to select the delay between when the key was first depressed and when the
acceleration begins.
Security Option
This field determines when the system will prompt for the password every time the system boots or
only when you enter the BIOS setup. Set the password in the Set Supervisor/User Password
submenu.

System:
The system will not boot and access to Setup will be denied unless the correct
password is entered at the prompt.

Setup:
The system will boot, but access to Setup will be denied unless the correct
password is entered at the prompt.
MPS Version Control for OS
This field is used to select the MPS version that the system board is using.
OS Select for DRAM > 64MB
This field allows you to access the memory that is over 64MB in OS/2.
Summer Screen Show
When system boots, it will display a list table that show the system information such as the
frequency of CPU, the size of memory, onboard device, and PCI devices. This option allows user
to decide if they want to show the summary screen.
Advanced Chipset Features
This section gives you functions to configure the system based on the specific features of the
chipset. The chipset manages bus speeds and access to system memory resources. These items
should not be altered unless necessary. The default settings have been chosen because they
provide the best operating conditions for your system. The only time you might consider making
any changes would be if you discovered some incompatibility or that data was being lost while
using your system.
