
Introduction
This appendix contains basic information on controlling the Model 2303 and 2303-PJ from the
front panel, or programming the Model 2303, 2303B, or 2303-PJ over the bus. Refer to the user’s
manual for more detailed information.
Front panel control
Setting output values
Use the following general procedure to set Model 2303 or 2303-PJ output values:
1.
Using the DISPLAY key, make sure the unit is in the ACTUAL V AND I display mode.
2.
Press SET. The LSD (least-significant digit) in the voltage display area will blink, indi-
cating that the unit is in the output setting mode.
3.
Use the edit (arrow) keys to adjust the voltage value, then press SET. The LSD for the
current value will then blink.
4.
Use the edit keys to adjust the current value, and press SET. The display will then return
to the readback mode (no blinking digits).
Setting the display mode
Press the DISPLAY key, then use the up or down arrow key to select the display mode. Use the
ACTUAL V AND I mode when testing current and voltage, and select the DVM INPUT mode when
testing the DVM input.
Selecting the current range
To select the 5mA (500mA, Model 2303-PJ) or 5A current readback range:
1.
Press the MENU key.
2.
Use the up or down arrow key to select the CURRENT RANGE menu item, then press
ENTER.
3.
Use the edit keys to select the desired current range, then press ENTER.
4.
Press the MENU key to back out of the menu structure.
Turning on the output
To turn on the output, simply press the OPERATE key. Press OPERATE again to turn the output
off.
