Arguments
Description Value Argument
Interval between sending LCP echo, in
seconds. If within the specified time

interval there is no LCP echo request from
the remote location, the same request will
be sent there asking for response LCP
reply.
The number of consecutive requests

echo sent, for which no response LCP reply

was received. If count of LCP echo requests
goes unanswered, the connection is
terminated.
Pppd will send LCP echo-request frames
only if no traffic was received from the
peer since the last echo-request was sent.
