Replacing the battery
Caution
●
Do not use force!
●
Improper exchange of the battery or replacement of the battery by a dif-
ferent type can lead to irreparable damage to the battery.
●
New batteries should not be touched with bare fingers because this
could cause contact problems due to oxidation.
●
If the battery is not replaced when there is a warning message, the data
in SRAM and the real-time clock setting can be lost if the supply power
is interrupted.
To prevent loss of data, the power supply of the CP 50x/x may not be
switched off when replacing the battery.
Information
If it is necessary to disconnect the supply voltage, the retain data of the
module must be backed up before changing the battery in order to prevent
data loss (see "Create backup" and "Restore backup / update firmware").
Also, the real-time clock on the controller must be reset after changing the
battery.
The battery is located on the bottom side of the CP 50x/x.
Removing the battery
To remove the battery, proceed as follows:
1) Remove the battery tray from the CP 50x/x.
