2 Safety
NOTE
All serious events occurring in relation to the product must be reported to the
manufacturer and the competent authority of the member state, in which the
user and/or patient resides.
The instructions for use are an integral part of the product and must be read
carefully prior to use and must be accessible at all times.
The device may only be used in accordance with the intended use, any other
type of use is not permitted.
2.1 Explosion hazard
Electrical sparks in the product can lead to explosion or fire.

Do not set up or operate the product in areas where there is an explosion
hazard.
The use of medical gases can lead to explosion or fire.

Do not used medical gases in the vicinity of the product.
2.2 Electrical shock
Improper connection of a non-medical system to the USB interfaces of the
device can lead to electrical shock and injury to patient, user and third parties.

Connect any IT device to the medical system in accordance with IEC
60601-1.

Use USB devices with no additional power supply (USB-powered) only.

Applied parts connected to the USB interface of the dentist element must
comply with the requisite insulation.

USB-powered devices failing to meet the requisite insulation for applied
parts must be placed appropriately such that direct contact of the USB
device and the patient is excluded.

It is not permissible to touch USB-powered devices failing to meet the re-
quisite insulation for applied parts and the patient at the same time.
2.3 Technical condition
If damaged, the device or components could injure patients, users and third
parties.

Only operate devices or components if they show no signs of damage on the
outside.

Check to make sure that the device is working properly and is in satisfactory
condition before each use.

If image faults occur, immediately shut down the product and have the ser-
vice personnel carry out repair work.

If product irregularities occur, immediately shut down the product and have
the service personnel carry out repair work.

Do not pull on the USB cable and do not kink the cable.

Have parts with sites of breakage or surface changes checked by the service
personnel.
The electrical safety of the device may be affected by improper operating condi-
tions.

Comply with the operating conditions specified in the "Technical Specifica-
tions" chapter.
