QFX10000 Component Redundancy
The QFX10000 is designed so that no single point of failure can cause the entire system to fail. The
following major hardware components in the redundant configuration provide redundancy:
• Routing and Control Board (RCB)—The RCB consolidates the Routing Engine function with control
plane function in a single unit. The QFX10000 can have one or two RCBs. When two RCBs are
installed, one functions as the primary and the other functions as the backup. If the primary RCB (or
