4.3 Weight determination
The total weight of the transport goods can be found on
the nameplate.
4.4 Center of gravity determination
4.4.1 Selection of suitable jack
NOTE
For safe lifting of the transport load, the use of
hydraulic JUNG jacks is recommended. The operating
instructions of the jacks are to be observed for the
correct selection and operation.
The following formula can be used for the selection
of the appropriate jack with a sufficient load-bearing
capacity:
Minimum load of the jack = (the load to be
lifted in kg) x (safety factor of 1.25)
Example:
Weight of the load 4 000 kg x 1.25 = 5 000 kg. The
jack must have a load-bearing capacity of 5000 kg.
4.4.2 Center of gravity determination
WARNING
For safety reasons, using multiple jacks with different
load-bearing capacities is not permissible.
If multiple jacks are used which have the same load-
bearing capacity, they must be placed under the load
such that each jack is subjected to the same share of
the load to be lifted. To do this, the center of gravity
must be determined.
To determine the centre of gravity using
JUNG jacks, the pressure gauge for jacks
(order no. 94 001 024-B, additional
accessory) must be used.
> Connect the pressure gauge to the hydraulic connection.
Example 1 - Ideal case
All four jacks indicate the same pressure, so the center
of gravity lies in the middle.
Example 2: Complicated case
Different pressures are indicated on the jacks. This me-
ans that the center of gravity lies outside of the center.
Determining the pressure:
> Position the jack such that the load is lifted evenly
over the entire side.
> Read pressure 1 off of the jack. Pressure = 300 bar
