Before first use
1.
Remove any labels and/or swingtickets.
2.
Wash the inside of the Kettle Body 1 with liquid detergent and warm
water, rinse and dry.
3.
Wipe the outside of the Kettle Body 1 and Lid 3 with a cloth, using
liquid detergent and warm water.
•
DO NOT IMMERSE ANY PART OF THE KETTLE IN WATER.
4.
Follow the “How to use” instructions to boil the maximum amount of
water, then discard the water.
5.
Repeat step 4 above.
How to use
1.
Position the Base 8 on a level and stable surface; please read the
CAUTIONS on siting and connecting to your mains electricity.
2.
Pull up the Lid 3 to open .
3.
Fill the Kettle as required - never less water than the Minimum (MIN)
level shown, or more than the Maximum (MAX) level on the Water
Level Indicator 7 .
•
DO NOT UNDERFILL OR OVERFILL.
4.
Close the Lid 3 fully by pushing it down.
5.
Return the Kettle to the Base 8 .
6.
Plug the base Mains Plug 9 into a mains power socket and switch
the socket ON.
7.
Switch the Kettle ON by moving the On/Off Switch 5 downwards to
the “|” position - the Heating Indicator 6 will illuminate red while the
kettle is heating.
8.
The water will boil and then the Kettle will switch OFF automatically
- the Heating Indicator 6 will extinguish.
9.
The boiling sequence of the Kettle can be interrupted at any time by
moving the On/Off Switch 5 upwards to the “0” position.
10.
Switch off the mains socket and remove the Mains Plug 9 .
11.
Pour water from the Spout 2 of the Kettle, as required.
•
TAKE CARE WITH VERY HOT WATER.
•
Once the water has cooled, it can be reheated by pressing the On/Off
Switch 5 . This will not function while the water is still hot.
•
THE KETTLE HAS OVERHEATING PROTECTION, WHICH WILL
AUTOMATICALLY SWITCH IT OFF. HOWEVER, YOU SHOULD TAKE
CARE NOT TO ALLOW IT TO BOIL DRY.

Cleaning & Care
•
Allow the Kettle to cool completely before cleaning.
1.
Wash the inside of the Kettle Body 1 and Filter 10 with liquid
detergent and warm water, rinse and dry.
•
The Filter 10 can be removed for cleaning - see 11.
2.
Wipe the outside of the Kettle Body 1 and Lid 3 with a cloth, using
liquid detergent and warm water.
•
DO NOT IMMERSE ANY PART OF THE KETTLE IN WATER.
•
Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners, metal objects or a brush with
metal bristles.
•
When the Kettle is not in use, store in a dry place.
•
Descale the kettle regularly.
•
To minimise scale build-up, empty the kettle and rinse it thoroughly
after each use.
Cautions
•
This appliance is not intended for use by persons( including children)
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of
experience or knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible
for their safety.
•
Always keep the appliance out of the reach of children.
•
Do not connect the Mains Plug 9 into the socket, or use the
appliance, if your hands or the appliance are wet.
•
Unplug the appliance whenever it is not in use.
•
THE APPLIANCE MUST ALWAYS BE EARTHED - always connect to a
mains socket with an earth connection.
•
Never leave the unit unattended when it is operating.
•
The Mains Lead 9 should be positioned so as not to cause an
obstruction or to overhang the edge of the surface, where it could
accidentally be snagged or pulled by children.
•
Do not use the Kettle outdoors.
•
Do not place the Kettle close to a heat source.
•
Ensure that the Mains Lead 9 is not near any hot surface.
•
Pull the plug (do not pull Mains Lead 9 ) to disconnect from mains
socket.
•
Do not pull the Mains Lead 9 to move the appliance.
•
It is not recommended that the Kettle be used with an extension lead.
If this cannot be avoided, ensure that the extension lead is of the
correct electrical rating.
