Bridge Channel – Authorizing Z2C Control in the Remote Resource
The next configuration step requiring the RSP‑Z2 is within the
Preferences
tab and involves
authorizing remote access/control of the unit by the associated Z2C. This is done by entering the
IP address of that Z2C in the
Controller IP
settings, as shown below.
Figure 5-7: Authorize Control of the RSP‑Z2 by the Z2C at IP Address
At this time, the only remote access function involves the Z2C asserting active PTT on a channel
connected to a headset in PTT mode. Other functions may be added in the future. Control
functions are performed using the RSP‑Z2’s REST interface.
Continue to the next section to connect the remote resource to the Z2C.
5.1.4.4
Bridge Channel – Connecting the Remote Resource Configuration to the Z2C
The final step involves rebooting the RSP‑Z2. After reboot, each RSP‑Z2 Bridge channel will
attempt to automatically connect to the Z2C at the specified IP address and port. An active link
will be indicated by:
•
On the RSP‑Z2, the associated front panel blue Link LEDs will be constantly illuminated
and, in the RSP‑Z2 GUI, the associated Bridge channel icon will feature a green circle in
its upper right corner.
•
On the Z2C, the associated icon will feature a green circle in its upper right corner.
It is not necessary to reboot the Z2C. The remote resource is connected. When the link is active,
a green dot will display on the channel icon in the Z2C.
