JOMAR AE-450 INSTALLATION, OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
To prevent serious injury, be sure that power is not connected to the actuator.
1. Manually place the valve in the fully closed position.
2. Loosely attach the bracket to the valve. (If bracket is required)
3. Install the coupler to the valve stem. (If coupler is required)
4. Drive actuator to the fully closed position.
5. Insert the valve stem (or coupler) into the actuator output drive, and then attach the valve (or
bracket), to the actuator. Be sure that the valve stem (or coupler) is fully engaged in the actuator
output drive.
6. Tighten all fasteners, do not over tighten.
7. Manually rotate the valve through it’s full range of travel to the open position with the manual
override located on the side of the actuator, to ensure smooth operation.
8. Wire the actuator per the provided wiring diagram (see back page). Be sure that the actuator is
rated the same as the supply voltage, 120Vac, 24Vdc, etc.
Wiring should be performed only by qualified electricians.
9. Cycle the actuator, by applying power, to ensure proper and smooth operation.
10. Adjustment of external mechanical travel stops should not be necessary, as all adjustments
are made at the factory, and the actuators are fully tested. These external adjustments are for
emergency stop purposes only, and are NOT intended as travel stops within the normal range of
operation. Travel adjustments are accomplished internally by factory authorized personnel.
Should any further adjustment be necessary, consult the factory before taking any further action.
The actuators should be powered through it’s full cycle every three (3) months to ensure proper
operation. The actuators are greased with molybdenum based grease, and under normal operating
conditions, no further maintenance is required.
