Procedure Overview
Table 2: Establishing a New Site
To Do This
Follow These Steps:
Establish a New Site
1. Double click the Maestro icon to run the
Maestro software.
2. Click
File
and select
Setup Comm.
3. Select the communication port that is
used to connect the computer (either
directly or via a modem) to the ACT2
controller. (See
Setting Up External
Communications Technical Bulletin
LIT-804250
for details on how to connect
a computer to a controller)
4. If a modem connection is used, set the
baud rate to 9600.
5. Click
the
OK
button.
6. Click
Site
and select
Pick Site
.
7. Click
the
Add>>
button.
8. Type in the requested information.
9. Click
the
Accept
button.
10. Click the
OK
button.
Establishing the ACT2
Controllers at a New Site
1. Establish the new site (see above).
2. Click
the
Site
menu and select the type of
connection that you currently have with
this site (
Dial
;
Direct RS-485 or TCP/IP
;
or
Off-Line
).
3. If the connection type selected is either
Dial
or
Direct RS-485 or TCP/IP
, the
Maestro software will process the
connection and determine the number and
type of units connected at that site. When
the connection is completed, go to Step 4.
If the connection type selected is
Off-Line
, define the units connected at
the new site using the following steps:
a. Click
Site
and select
Pick Unit
.
b. Click
the
Create New Unit
button.
c.
Type in the communication ID of the
unit. (Must be 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.)
d.
Select the type and version of
controller from the list.
e. Click
the
OK
button.
f.
Repeat Steps 3a through 3e for
each ACT2 controller at the site.
4. Proceed
to
Using the Maestro Software to
View System Information
to view system
setup and status, or to
Using the Maestro
Software to Modify Parameters
to set up
the setpoints and other parameters.
