NOTE: JMR’s snapshot utilizes a Copy-Before-Write (CBW) process, which
means that a write to the source logical volume will result in a pre-defined
segment of the logical volume’s data to be copied to the snapshot before
allowing the write to continue, thus preserving the original data on the
snapshot. It is important to note that a snapshot is NOT a complete physical
replication of the original disk when it is created, only a virtual copy, as all
written data would still reside on the source disk.

Preview: Space not available in the same array for snapshot
You can easily preview the total space of the array by clicking on the array that
you want to use for the Snapshot. When you click on the array, all of the logical
volumes associated with that array will be marked with a blue arrow (see
). You can quickly add up the amount of space already used and compare it to
the total capacity of the selected array. If you see that there is not enough space
for the targeted snapshot volume, be sure there is another array that can be used
for the planned snapshot (see
