Platform or Boom Caught Overhead
If the platform or boom becomes jammed or snagged in over
-
head structures or equipment, do the following:
1.
Shut off the machine.
2.
Rescue all people in the platform before freeing the
machine. Personnel must be out of the platform before
operating any controls on the machine.
3.
Use cranes, forklifts, or other equipment to stabilize motion
of the machine to prevent a tip over as required.
4.
From the ground controls, use the Auxiliary Power System (if
equipped) to carefully free the platform or boom from the
object.
5.
Once clear, restart the machine and return the platform to a
safe position.
6.
Inspect the machine for damage. If the machine is damaged
or does not operate properly, turn off the machine immedi
-
ately. Report the problem to the proper maintenance per
-
sonnel. Do not operate the machine until it is declared safe
for operation.
5.4
EMERGENCY TOWING PROCEDURES
Towing this machine is prohibited. However, provisions for mov
-
ing the machine have been incorporated. The following proce
-
dures are to be used ONLY for emergency movement to a
suitable maintenance area.
THE ALLOWABLE TOWING SPEED IS 1.9 MPH (3 KM/H). THE MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE
TOWING DISTANCE IS 0.6 MILES (1 KM/H).
1.
Chock wheels securely.
2.
Engage the mechanical release on both drive hubs by loos
-
ening, completely reversing, and tightening the two bolts on
each hub.
3.
Connect suitable equipment, remove chocks, and move
machine.
After moving machine, complete the following procedure:
1.
Position machine on a firm level surface.
2.
Chock wheels securely.
3.
Disengage the mechanical release on both drive hubs by
loosening, completely reversing, and tightening the two
bolts on each hub.
4.
Remove chocks from wheels as desired.
