Tires
A. Tire Air Pressure Check
1. Perform
2. Remove valve stem cap.
3. Check tire pressure.
4. Add air if required. See page 9-6 for tire pressures.
5. Replace valve stem cap.
B. Tire Damage
For pneumatic tires, when any cut, rip or tear is discovered that exposes sidewall or tread
area cords in the tire, measures be taken to remove the product from service immediately.
Arrangements must be made for replacement of the tire or tire assembly.
For polyurethane foam filled tires, when any of the following are discovered, measures
must be taken to remove the product from service immediately. Arrangements must be
made for replacement of the tire or tire assembly.
• Smooth even cut through the cord piles which exceeds 3 in (7,5 cm) in total length
• Any tears or rips (ragged edges) in cord plies which exceeds 1 in (2,5 cm) in any direction
• Any punctures which exceed 1 in (2,5 cm) in diameter
If a tire is damaged but within above noted criteria, tire must be inspected daily to ensure
damage has not propagated beyond allowable criteria.
C. Tire and Wheel Replacement
Machines equipped with pneumatic tires from manufacturer must use pneumatic
replacements. Machines equipped with foam filled or ballast filled tires from
manufacturer must use foam filled or ballast filled replacements.
It is recommended that a replacement tire to be same size, ply and brand as originally
installed. Refer to appropriate parts manual for ordering information. If not using an
approved replacement tire, replacement tires must have the following characteristics:
• Equal or greater ply/load rating and size of original
• Tire tread contact width equal or greater than original
• Wheel diameter, width and offset dimensions equal to the original
• Approved for application by tire manufacturer (including inflation pressure and
maximum tire load)
