1.4 Hazard analysis and risk assessement
The user of the safety functions STO and SBC must follow the currently
applicable version of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EEC.
The manufacturer or the manufacturer's representative has the obligation to
undertake a hazard analysis (as per applicable Machinery Directive) prior
to placing a machine on the market. The manufacturer must undertake an
analysis of the hazards that emanate from the machine and implement
appropriate measures to reduce/eliminate the hazards.
With the hazard analysis the prerequisites are met to be able to define the
necessary safety functions.
The
device design S1 (ATO+SBC) of the JM-3000 servo amplifiers has
been accepted by the accredited certification body "TÜV Rheinland
Industrie Service GmbH". Conformance to parts of EN ISO 13849-1,
EN 62061, EN 61800-5-2 and EN 61508 is ensured.
NOTICE
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
The operator must be trained to suit the operator's level of knowledge.
This training must be appropriate for the complexity and the safety
integrity level of the safety-related system. The training includes the
study of the main features of the production process and knowledge
of the relationship between the safety-related system and the EUC
(Equipment Under Control).
1.5 Maintenance
Actions to maintain the device are not necessary. In the event of a fault the
device is to be replaced and returned to the manufacturer.
1.6
Definition of terminology
STO = Safe Torque OFF
The supply of power to the drive is safely interrupted (no electrical isolation)
with the safety function STO. The drive is not allowed to be able to produce
any torque and therefore no hazardous movement. The standstill position is
not monitored.
The STO function complies with stop category 0 in accordance with
EN 60204-1.
SBC = Safe Brake Control
The function SBC is used for the safe operation of a holding brake.
Depending in the pre-selection on the DIL switch block S-ADR, if enabled,
SBC is always activated in parallel with STO.
