7.2.1 Setting the programme number

Once the programme has been selected, the “mm” LED illuminates. The desired material thickness can be
set using the general voltage selector switch
and precise voltage selector switch
. The thickness is
indicated on the display.
7.2.3 Operating modes
There are three operating modes available for MIG/MAG welding. These can be selected using button
on the
SynMag 2600/3100
and button
on the
SynMag 3600/4100/5100
.
MIG/MAG spot welding, 2-step operation
SynMag 2600/3100
Use the knob in Fig. 12 pos. A on page EN-15 to set the spot welding time. The process sequence is as
follows:
• Step 1: Press and hold the torch trigger. The shielding gas flows. The arc ignites.
• Step 2: The arc automatically goes out after the set time has elapsed. The shielding gas continues to
flow for a brief period.
