DS0 VF Test Commands

Description of VF test commands

CT-650 Command-Line Reference Guide

Release 9.4

Remarks

– This command is available only after executing a

VF_DI_Split

command.

– To perform an end-to-end test, execute the

VF_DI_Measure

command to transmit a test signal from the unit and transmit the
same test signal from the far end.

– The Send and Receive Tone test (see

) is useful for

testing a TAD/TAP. First, use the

TAP_Loopback

command to

loopback the TAP, then send a tone. The received level and
frequency should be nearly identical to the transmitted level and
frequency.

VF_DI_Split

Establishes an intrusive connection between the monitored TAP from
a 3/1 DCS and a DTU RTU.

Syntax

VF_DI_Split <

Send and
receive tone

Send_Rec_Tone

Sends a tone at a designated level and fre-
quency, and simultaneously measures the level
and frequency of the receive side of the chan-
nel. If you use this test to simply transmit a tone
to the opposite end of the channel, ignore the
received values. If you are only interested in the
received values, enter any valid values for the
transmit level and frequency. The receive fre-
quency is calculated by counting the zero cross-
ings of the receive signal over an interval long
enough to ensure accuracy. The Rx/Tx Signal-
ing Bits AB[CD] fields only apply when the Sig-
naling Option is installed. The signaling bits can
be toggled by using the hotkeys Ctrl+A, Ctrl+B,
Ctrl+C, and Ctrl+D. The CD bits apply only
when ESF is used.

Three-tone
slope

Three-Tone <

Compares the differences in loss between the
three frequencies 404 Hz, 1004 Hz, and 2804
Hz. This test is not available when testing sig-
naling.
