REPAIR FOR COMPONENT PARTS

Revision: November 2006

2006 Altima

4.

Install bearing on rear internal gear.

CAUTION:

Apply petroleum jelly to bearing.

5.

Install thrust washer and overrun clutch hub.

CAUTION:

●

Apply petroleum jelly to thrust washer.

●

Align hooks of thrust washer with holes of overrun clutch
hub.

●

Align projections of rear internal gear with holes of over-
run clutch hub.

6.

Install forward clutch hub on rear internal gear.

CAUTION:

●

Check operation of the forward one-way clutch.

●

Hold the rear internal gear and turn the forward clutch
hub.

●

Check forward clutch hub for correct locking and unlock-
ing directions as shown, if incorrect check assembly of
the forward one-way clutch.
