5.1.5 Post-replacement verification
Refer to sections 3.1.2 and 3.1.3 and perform the pressure test. Verify that there are
no leaks from the plunger seal (See Fig. 2.2). If the test reveals a leak, see Section
2.4.1, which describes procedures for dealing with leaks from the plunger seal.
5.2 Line filter replacement
5.2.1 Check for line filter clogs
Pump solvent at 10 ml/min while no tubing is connected to the pump outlet port and
observe the operating pressure. If the operating pressure is 2.0 MPa or higher, the
line filter is clogged and must be replaced. If the pressure is between 1.0 and 2.0
MPa, the pump can be used for the time being but line filter replacement is
recommended. A new line filter should yield an operating pressure of 0.5 MPa or
lower.
