Measurement
Medium and high voltage
Potential and current transformers are always re-
quired for measurements in medium and high volt-
age distribution systems. Special safety regulations
have to be observed when using these transformers.
Measurement circuits
The UMG 510 provides two measurement inputs:
one three-phase main measurement and one auxil-
iary measurement. In total 4 voltages and 4 currents
can be measured.
The three-phase main measurement has 10 differ-
ent measurement configurations. The auxiliary input
provides 3 measurement circuits.
Use the auxiliary input to measure single-phase or
symmetrical three-phase systems.
Neutral line current measurement
Example:
Both inputs may be used in a three-phase system to
calculate the difference between the theoretical and
real neutral current (caused by earth leakage).
