NTRODUCTION
The RT961S-Mk2 transponder is designed to be used for scientific, offshore, military
applications in a highly corroding and demanding environment.
The transponder can be inserted in a mooring structure. In this case the transponder if
autonomous on its internal battery power supply and operates in transponder mode,
answering the acoustic interrogations.
The transponder can be installed on an underwater vehicle to help the acoustic
positioning of this vehicle. In this case the transponder can be autonomous or be powered
supplied by the vehicle. The transponder can operate in transponder (acoustically
triggered) or responder (electrically triggered) mode.
