Gasoline chain saw

Wear protective gloves while handling
the saw chain (1).
Put the machine on flat ground.
•
Unscrew the nuts (20) with the multi-purpose
•
wrench (19), move the chain brake initiator (4) to
the utmost forward position and remove the casing
(21).
Remove the cutting unit of the machine.
•
Remove the saw chain (1) from the guide bar
•
(2).
Brush off sawdust and small wooden chips from
•
the saw chain (1) and guide bar (2).
Oil the saw chain (1) and guide bar (2) to protect
•
them against corrosion.
Mount the cutting unit as described above.
•
Encase the cutting unit with the chain guard
•
(10).
Cleaning the air filter

Clean the air filter
•
after every 50 hours
of work.
Put the machine
•
on flat ground.
Loosen
the
•
special nut (6) and
remove the cover
(7).
Clean the filter
•
(26) with alcohol.
Wipe the filter
•
(25) dry with a soft cloth.
Replace the filter (25).
•
Replace the cover (7) and tighten the nut (6).
•
Checking the spark plug

Put the
•
machine on
flat ground.
Loosen the special nut (6) and remove the cover
•
(7).
Remove the cap (27) from the spark plug (26).
•
Unscrew the spark plug (26) with the multi-
•
purpose wrench (18).
Purge the deposits from the electrodes of the
•
spark plug (26).
Check and adjust (if necessary)
•
the gap between the side and
center electrodes of the spark plug
(it must be equal to 0, 7- 0,8 mm).
Replace the spark plug (26) and
•
reassemble the spark plug; at that
all steps are to be repeated in the
inverted sequence.
Checking the functions of the saw chain lubrication
system
28. Adjusting screw
Functions of the saw chain lubrication system can
be checked as follows:
switch the machine on and hold the end of the
•
cutting unit over the sheet of cardboard or paper
placed on the ground:
CAUTION:
•
Do not touch the ground with the
chain, keep a distance of ca. 20 cm. Should oil traces
increasingly appear on the cardboard or paper, this
is an evidence of the proper functioning of the saw
chain lubrication system. If oil traces do not appear,
even though the oil tank is full, please contact IVT
customer Service;
the amount of
•
oil to lubricate the
saw chain (1) can
be adjusted with
the screw (28).
Turn the adjusting
screw (28) counter
clockwise
to
increase the oil
feed, clockwise to
decrease it (see
also the legend on
the machine’s casing).
