Section 5. Troubleshooting
Problem
Cause
Measure
1. AC power is not supplied.
[IWX series]
y
Confirm voltage at the power outlet.
y
Check the power cord, and replace if
necessary.
Confirm conduction between CN1 1-pin or
3-pin of SW power supply and the plug.
Also check voltage 100-240VAC between the
same pins.
2. Low voltage of the
battery. [IWB series]
y
Check the battery and replace if necessary.
y
If AC adaptor is used, confirm the voltage is
within 2.4
−
10VDC.
3. ON/OFF key is defect.
y
Check conduction of the key using a multi-
meter, and replace if necessary.
4. No VCC+5V supply.
y
Check connection and conduction of harness
C2 VCC, and replace if necessary.
y
Check SW power supply, and replace if
necessary.
Confirm using a multi-meter CN2 1-, 2-pin
GND and +5V of 3-, 4-pins of the SW power
supply.
1. Nothing is displayed
even when the ON/OFF
key is pressed.
The ON/OFF key is
illustrated as the
followings.
or
5. Main board defect.
y
Confirm by replacing the main board P-935
(IWX), P-936 (IWB) with a normal one.
2. ”Err” displays when
pressing ON/OFF key.
1. E2ROM data is garbled.
y
Initialize Test Mode C6 E2ROM entirely.
(Span adjustment is required after
initialization.)
y
If not recovered, replace the main board.
3. Test Mode “C1” displays
when pressing ON/OFF
key.
1. Scale data is in the
initialization state.
y
Span adjustment.
1. A/D value is outside the
start range at the zero
point, or unstable.
-
AD initial value drifts.
-
Defect in load cell.
y
Remove item from on the weighing platter.
y
Check and adjust A/D value.
Perform Test Mode C1, and if unstable,
replace A/D board and load cell in the order.
If outside the start range, perform the zero
and span adjustment.
y
Replace load cell if weighing value reaches
the lower limit under the weighing capacity at
zero/span adjustment.
4. When pressing ON/OFF
key, and after display
check is finished, “----“ is
displayed for weight and
buzzer sounds
continuously.
(The buzzer does not
sound for IWB.)
2. Incorrect supplied
voltage VEX+5V to the
load cell.
- Main board defect.
y
Check +5V between R-W of A/D board XJ2
by using a multi-meter. If the voltage is low or
fluctuated, replace the main board to
generate VEX.
1. Influence of wind or
vibration at the setting
location.
y
If the scale is exposed to wind, move the
scale to another place, or install a screen,
etc.
y
If influenced by vibration from floor or
platform, move the scale.
5. Zero point and/or
weighing value
fluctuate.
2. Interference to the
weighing platter, platter
support, or load cell.
y
Check visually for any contact to the
weighing platter, platter support or load cell.
If any, remove it.
