CAUTION: Park the machine on level, hard
ground and make sure that the parking
brakes or locking brake pedal are applied
securely.
b. Turn the key switch to the STOP ( ) position to
stop the engine.
IMPORTANT: • Never attempt stopping the engine
abruptly when it is running at high
speeds.
• Be sure to let the engine idle for about
5 minutes after a longtime opera-
tion and then stop the engine. Abrupt
engine stopping may lead to over-
heating causing seizure.
c. Remove the starter switch and cap the key hole
without fail.

CAUTION: When you leave the machine,
be sure to stop the engine and remove
the starter switch to prevent the machine
from being started unexpectedly by chil-
dren or unauthorised people.
4. TRAVELLING
CAUTION:
• Before having become sufficiently fa-
miliar with the operation of the machine,
be sure to operate it in a place spacious
and flat without obstacles and having an
unobstructed view and confirm the func-
tioning of each control.
• Check the place to mow for bumps,
ditches, mounds, steps, slopes, inclina-
tion, softness, pools, etc. ahead of time
to avoid accidents such as turnover, fall,
side-sliding of the machine.
a. Start the engine. (Refer to “2. STARTING THE EN-
GINE” at page 37.)
b. Pull (

) the lift lever to lift up the mower deck from
the ground.

CAUTION: Starting to travel at high speeds
without lifting up the mower deck will
cause the mower blades to hit stones or
stocks, which may result in break-down of
the machine or serious accidents.
c. Release the parking brakes or brake pedal lock.
d. Turn the throttle lever to the high speed position (

to accelerate the engine.
IMPORTANT: Before starting to advance the machine,
make sure of the safety conditions in
front of and around the machine.
