Finally, let’s copy this transmit message to the receive side so that it is decoded correctly.
14. Switch to the Messages Editor.
15. Copy the VSpy Client Request to Receive Messages:
Click the
VSpy Client Request
message, then right-click it, select
Copy To
and then
Receive
.
When we go online, Vehicle Spy will transmit requests to the Ethernet node acting as server,
which will reply back to it. The requests from the Ethernet client node will continue to be sent,
however, so the server will respond to those messages as well. The server will always reply
back to the port number from which the request was sent. This means we can differentiate
between the replies sent to the client node and those sent to VSpy by creating two receive
message definitions with different port numbers.
Let’s do that now. You should still be in the
Messages Editor
from the previous step, so we can
continue from there.
16.
Change the Server Response Message to Be Specific to Ethernet Node Requests:
Change the name of the message to “Node Server Response”. Now change
Destination
Address
from “X.X.X.X” to “10.0.0.1” and
Destination Port
from blank to “60001”.
