Chapter 9
The liner/(batch) takeup kit is an optional factory-installed device
that makes it possible to auto-dispense self-adhesive labels from
the liner (peel-off/self-strip operation), and—in case of EasyCoder
501 XP—also to wind up printed labels, tickets, or continuous
stock internally (batch takeup operation.) The kit consists of two or
three main parts:
• A stepper motor that drives the liner drive roller in the print unit
and the liner/batch takeup unit. The liner drive roller is fi tted as
standard even when the kit is not installed.
• A liner/batch takeup unit that takes up the spent liner or the
printed media to be rewound for later use.
• A guide plate (EasyCoder 501 XP only) that replaces the tear
bar when labels or other types of printed media are wound up
internally (also see Chapter 8.5.) When not used, the guide is
fi tted using one #T20 Torx screw at the rear of the media com-
partment.
