BATTERY INSTALLATION (SEE FIGURES BELOW)

Access the battery compartment on the rear of the unit by removing
the back cover. Press on the upper center part of the cover and slide it
down. Insert four (4) “AA” batteries (not included) following the polar-
ity diagram. When the last battery is inserted, the Battery Low LED will
flash and the Siren will chirp to indicate the batteries are installed 
properly. Replace the battery compartment cover. The Siren will chirp
every 10-15 seconds when the batteries need replacing.

BATTERY PRECAUTIONS

Follow these precautions when using batteries in this device:
1. Use only the size and type of batteries specified.
2. Be sure to follow the correct polarity when installing the batteries 

as indicated in the battery compartment. Reversed batteries may 
cause damage to the device.

3. Do not mix different type of batteries together (e.g. Alkaline and 

Carbon-zinc) or old batteries with fresh ones.

4. If the device is not to be used for a long period of time, remove the 

batteries to prevent damage or injury from possible battery 
leakage.

5. Do not try to recharge batteries not intended to be recharged; 

they can overheat and rupture. (Follow battery manufacturer’s 
directions.)

6. Will not function properly if batteries are not maintained. Check

performance regularly.

NOTE: 

Not intended for use in exposed outdoor applications. Will not

operate properly  if used in below freezing temperatures (32˚F) or
damp locations.

PROGRAMMING THE ALARM

The desired 4-digit code must be set immediately (within 5 seconds)
after inserting the batteries. To set the code, select your 4-digit access
code, and simply press the desired 4 digits on the keypad.

To use the alarm in combination with RF controlled Siren Speaker Unit,
set programmable switch combination.
Remove battery compartment cover, remove batteries.
Locate the programmable switch and set 3 switches at desirable 
positions. Replace batteries and battery compart-
ment cover. Set switches of the programmable
switch of the Siren Speaker Unit at the same 
positions.

INSTALLATION

The unit is designed to be either free standing or
wall mounted. For wall mounting place the unit in
the desired location, preferable next to the front or
back door. Install the unit using the supplied screw
(see figure at right).

Using Remote RF Alarm

To use the alarm unit in combination with the RF
Siren Speaker Unit, locate the RF Speaker
programmable switch and set the 3 switches to
match the settings of the 3 dip switch settings of
the SP501B RF Siren Speaker.

OPERATION
Arming Alarm
When leaving the protected area,

press keypad

number 4. The Status LED will flash and the Siren will chirp to indicate
the unit is armed. There will be a delay of 30 seconds to enable you to
leave the protected area before the alarm sounds. When motion  is
detected, the alarm will sound for 60 seconds and reset for 15
seconds.If movement continues the SIREN will sound for another 60
seconds, until alarm is de-activated by either entering personal alarm
code or the absence of motion. 

WARNING:

THE ALARM SIREN IS VERY LOUD; PLEASE DO NOT

ALLOW IT TO SOUND FOR LONG LENGTHS OF TIME.
WARNING: NOT INTENDED FOR USE AS A RESIDENTIAL WATER
HAZARD ENTRANCE ALARM.

Disarming  Alarm
When returning to the protected area,

simply press your personal

alarm code. This will disarm the unit. The 10 seconds delay enables
you to get to the alarm before it sounds.

NOTE:

When the fourth digit of your code is entered, the Status LED

will flash and the Siren will chirp to indicate the unit is disarmed.

Care and Maintenance

To clean the unit housing use a soft cloth slightly dampened with water
and wipe dry. Do not use chemical agents as this may damage and 
discolor the unit.
