3.14 HearSIM
TM
software bundle
The Sera
TM
can be connected to a PC via a USB cable for use in conjunction with HearSIM
TM
.
The
HearSIM
TM
software allows the user to customize Sera
TM
device settings, manage screening data and export
it into other database systems.
Please refer to the HearSIM
TM
manual for further information.
NOTICE:
As a part of data protection, ensure to be compliant to all the following points:
1.
Use Microsoft supported operating systems
2.
Ensure operating systems are security patched
3.
Enable database encryption
4.
Use individual user accounts and passwords
5.
Secure psychical and network access to computers with local data storage
6.
Use updated antivirus and firewall and anti-malware software
7.
Implement appropriate backup policy
8.
Implement appropriate log retention policy
Using operating systems where Microsoft have discontinued software and security support will increase the
risk for viruses and malware, which may result in breakdowns, data loss and data theft and misuse.
Interacoustics A/S cannot be held liable for your data. Some Interacoustics A/S products support or may
work with operating systems unsupported by Microsoft. Interacoustics A/S recommends you to always use
Microsoft supported operating systems that are kept fully security updated.
3.15 Licenses
When you receive the Sera
TM
, it already contains the license(s) for the modules you have purchased. If you
would like to add another test type to the device (e.g., DPOAE or TEOAE), please contact your dealer to
purchase a new license.
3.15.1 Adding a new license to Sera
TM
To add a new license:
1. Ensure you have the last released version of the Sera
TM
software bundle.
2. Connect the Sera
TM
device to the PC via the supplied USB cable.
3. Run the FirmwareUpgradeSera.exe file located in the “Tools” folder on the Sera
TM
USB stick.
4. Press Upgrade and follow the onscreen instructions. This will ensure your device is running the latest
firmware version. Failure to do may lead to use of an older version of the newly licensed test type.
5. Run the ErisLicenseManager.exe file located in the Sera Tools folder on the Sera
TM
USB stick.
6. Enter the new license key provided and press the Set license button
7. The firmware is now up to date and the new test type should now be available on your Sera
TM
device.
3.16 Updating the firmware
Interacoustics will periodically release new firmware for the Sera
TM
device. The device should always contain
the latest available firmware to ensure that the device is working optimally.
To check the firmware version:
From the Home Screen, press the Setup button
1. Press About
2. The device’s firmware version number is displayed along with the MCU and DSP compile dates.
