POST beep code descriptions
POST emits one beep to signal successful completion. If POST detects a problem during startup,
other beep codes might occur. Use the following beep code descriptions to help diagnose and resolve
problems that are detected during startup.

One beep
Indicates successful completion of POST.
Repeating long beeps
Indicates that a memory error has occurred. Make sure that all DIMMs are correctly
installed.
One long beep and two small beeps
Indicates that a video error has occurred and the BIOS cannot initialize the monitor screen to
display additional information.
Beep codes for specific problems
Beep codes indicating specific system problems are listed in the following table.

1-1-4
BIOS ROM checksum in-progress or failure.
Action:
1.
Move the BIOS code page jumper (J12) to pins 2 and 3 to boot from the backup BIOS
code page.
2.
Restart the blade server and flash the BIOS code.
3.
Move the BIOS code page jumper back to pins 1 and 2 and restart the blade server.
All other
beep codes
1.
Make sure that the system memory modules are installed correctly.
2.
Turn off the blade server; then restart the blade server.
