Install the Processor (CPU)
CAUTION: The pins inside the processor socket are extremely sensitive. Other than the processor, no object
should make contact with the pins inside the processor socket. A damaged processor socket pin will render
the socket inoperable, and will produce erroneous processor or other system errors if used.
NOTE:
The underside of the processor has components that may damage the socket pins if installed
improperly. The Processor must align correctly with the socket opening before installation. DO NOT DROP
processor into the socket!
NOTE
: When possible, a processor insertion tool should be used when placing the processor into the
processor socket .

Remove processor from its packaging. If present, carefully remove the protective cover from the bottom side
of the processor, taking care not to touch any processor contacts (see letter ‘A’). Orient the processor with
the socket so that the processor cutouts match the four orientation posts on the socket (see letter ‘B’). Note
the location of the gold key on the corner of processor (see letter ‘C’). Carefully place (Do NOT drop) the
processor into the socket.

Remove the plastic processor socket cover.

Remove the socket cover by pressing it out of the load plate. If attached, the black mylar spacer does not
have to be de-attached from the plastic socket cover.
NOTE: The plastic processor socket cover and mylar spacer should be saved and re-used should the
processor need to be removed at anytime in the future.

Close the Load Plate.
