Speaker Impedance

4ohms :
Select if the impedance of any speaker is 4 ohms or
more but less than 6.

Select if the impedances of all speakers are between
6 and 16 ohms.

• When bridging is used, “ Speaker Impedance ” setting is fixed at
“ 8ohms ”.

Select this if you’ve connected your front speakers

Select this if you’ve connected your front speakers

Note

Passive Subwoofer

Use :
Select this if you’ve connected passive subwoofers.

Select this if you’ve connected no passive subwoof-
ers.

• Powered Zone 2/4 cannot be used if “ Passive Subwoofer ” is set
to “ Use ”.
• This setting cannot be used if “ Front High + Front Wide ” set-
ting is set to “ Yes ”.

Listening mode that make use of “ Front High + Front
Wide ” setting is as follows;
Audyssey DSX (PLII/Neo:6 + Audyssey DSX included),
Orchestra, Unplugged, Studio-Mix, TV Logic,
Game-RPG, Game-Action, Game-Rock, Game-Sports,
All Ch Stereo, Full Mono.
Note
• When you have selected “ Yes ”,
– the “ Surround Back ” setting is set to “ None ”.
– the “ Front High ” or “ Front Wide ” setting is set to
“ 80Hz(THX) ” if set to “ None ”.
• The “ Front High + Front Wide ” setting cannot be used in either
of the following cases;
– Bi-amping or bridging is being used.
– Passive subwoofers are being used.
– Powered Zone 2/3/4 are being used.
Speaker Configuration
With these settings, you can specify which speakers are
connected and a crossover frequency for each speaker.
Specify “
Full Band ” for speakers that can output low fre-
quency bass sounds adequately, for example, speakers
with a good sized woofer. For smaller speakers, specify a
crossover frequency. Sounds below the crossover fre-
quency will be output by the subwoofer instead of the
speaker. Refer to your speaker’s manuals to determine the
optimum crossover frequencies.
If you set up your speakers using Audyssey MultEQ XT32
Room Correction and Speaker Setup, please make sure
manually that any THX speakers are set to “
80Hz(THX) ”
crossover.
