Scanning Documents
SCAMAX® scanners offer all conditions for efficient working. In particular, the devices of the H12 type
can be optimized through optional extensions of the Output/Input Hopper. The following chapters
describe possible setting and correct use of the hardware to ensure optimum paper transport.
5.1.
Preparation of Documents
In order to ensure minimum disruption during batch scan, a conscientious preparation of the material
is essential for good scan. To do this, all foreign objects and contaminants
(paperclips, staples, glue,
etc.)
should be removed from the Outputs. Donkey ears should be smoothened and deeper cracks
glued. Stapled or bound documents are to be separated and folded papers straightened. Attention
must not be paid to text-based orientation of documents as may be used during the scan functions
of this comprehensive image orientation
(see chapter
Because the documents are fed in on the front edge of the Input Tray by the feeder system, all docu-
ments of the stack must be pushed to the edge, pointing towards the document feeder. Documents
that do not lie at the edge, necessarily produce a Double Feed
(see chapter
). If the centered
input is used
(see chapter
) it should be ensured that any smaller documents will also be made to
touch the central area. The use of the so-called paper shakers for the preparation of different formats
is not recommended, as they do not provide for the central feed of documents.
5.2.
Einstellen der Arbeitshöhe
In order to allow for the highest degree of ergonomic use and fatigue-free work, H12 scanners can
be adjusted to the operator’s desired working height. The two buttons shown to the left are display-
ed in the Button Bar (
see chapter
), as standard. They will raise or lower the scan-
ner’s input tray up to a maximum height of 1100 mm or down to a minimum height
of 640 mm. This process is fully motorized.
CAUTION / WARNING
When adjusting the working height, please make sure that no obstacles or foreign objects
are in the scanner’s travel path – the unit itself or obstructing items might be damaged. Also,
please keep the scanner’s travel path clear of your own and other people’s limbs. Otherwise,
when performing height adjustments, there would be a danger of sustaining pinching or
crushing injuries.
