8.3.
Ink Cartridge of the Imprinter
Both available Imprinter types use conventional ink jet
cartridges from Hewlett Packard, which are available in
different inks. These ink cartridges are characterized by
high reliability, ease of use and worldwide availability.
The ink cartridge of the imprinter types installed by de-
fault has the Manufacturer no.
C6602A
and is mounted
in each case in a spring-loaded holding device. The left
image shows the mounting of the Imprinter Front.
In the case of the optional HD-Imprinters, ink cartridges
of type
HP337
(
Hersteller-Nr. C9364E
) are used. The holder
for this imprinter type uses a SnapIn fixture, which is
also used in many common HP printers. The green hood
with the two spigots above the fixture covers a control
board, which is required for the correct operation of the
HD imprinter. The picture to the left shows the Imprinter
Back HD.
8.3.1.
Installation/Change of an Ink Cartridge
To remove and install the ink cartridge of an Imprinter, first the access to the respective holder has to
be established (
see
chapter
/
).
In case of using the default imprinter types, hold the ink
cartridge on the provided plastic tab and detach it la-
terally from its bracket. Now, the ink cartridge can be
removed. The insertion is carried out in reverse order.
Here, it must be ensured that the suspension bracket is
locked properly.
At the Imprinter Back, the ink cartridge holder must
moved completely right on its guide rods and lifted from
the subsoil by a slightly pull of the outer guide rod
prior
to
remove or insert the ink cartridge like described
above.
Both HD imprinters are mounted on two guide rods
which are attached to movable side plates. Use the hol-
ding pins of the green cover to install and remove the
ink cartridges. In case of the Imprinter Front HD, the
cartridge is lifted upwards, whereas in case of the Im-
printer Back HD, it is swung outwards.
In either case, the ink cartridge is removed by grasping
one of the plastic tabs and pulling it out of the holder,
sideways. When replacing the ink cartridge, please make
sure that it engages correctly in its holder.
