Rectifying Faults
The following section describes possible reasons for faults and how
to resolve them.
If you encounter a fault that cannot be resolved by following the in-
structions below, please contact your nearest INFORS HT representa-
tive. For service contact details, see page 2.
7.1
Messages in the View Boxes
Faults in the device are divided into two categories:
Alarms
refer to errors in the process, e.g. if the actual parame-
ter values deviate from the setpoints. Alarms do not directly af-
fect the process; the device can continue running without any
restrictions.
Error messages
relate to technical faults in the device. Depend-
ing on the type of the error in question, either the device or indi-
vidual components will be brought to an immediate stop. In
such cases, it will not be possible to put the device back into op-
eration until the error has been resolved.
7.1.1
Alarm Messages and their Meanings
An alarm is triggered whenever a parameter fails to reach its setpoint
within a define period of time. Alarms are indicated visually and
acoustically.
If a parameter-related alarm occurs, the text
Hi or Lo will be displayed
in alternation with the actual value of the parameter. Alarms are
cleared automatically as soon as the actual value moves back into the
setpoint range.
INFORMATION
An alarm is only triggered if the value of the parameter does not
change for a certain length of time. If there is a fluctuation, the
counter for triggering the alarm is reset.
