15.12 Battery Charger Maintenance and Troubleshooting
WARNING - Risk Of Electric Shock
Do not attempt to open the case of the Battery Charger.
There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
15.12.1 Cleaning The Battery Charger
WARNING - Risk Of Electric Shock
Disconnect the power cord and remove any batteries
from the Battery Charger before proceeding.
Clean the surfaces with a damp cloth or sponge and (if desired) a mild household
cleaner. Do not use excess water or allow water into the receptacles.
Be sure the cooling slots at the back are clean, as well as the holes in the aluminum
base-plate. Be sure the Battery Charger is dry before applying power.
15.12.2 Troubleshooting The Battery Charger
15.12.2.1 If No Indicators are Illuminated
This indicates that AC power is not reaching the power supply within the Battery
Charger.
Check the AC outlet to be sure it is "live" by connecting some other device, such
as a lamp.
Unplug the power cord from the outlet and examine the power cord for wear or
breakage.
Disconnect the power cord from the back-panel connector and replace the
fuse. The correct fuse is part number 062-0063, rated for 1.25 A, 250 V (time
delay). The slider which holds the fuse can be pried open with a small
screwdriver once the power cord has been withdrawn.
NOTE:
If the battery charger’s connector protrudes from the back panel and
requires pressing a clip to open the drawer, the battery charger will contain
two fuses. Perhaps only one will be blown.
If the problem persists, contact INFICON Customer Support. See
