Installation Instructions
1.
Make sure the vehicle is off with the key removed.
2.
Remove the original head unit.
3.
The switches need to be set on the interface before the interface (part 3) is powered. Refer to the table above for the correct
setting of the switches for the vehicle.
(If the switches need to be changed after fitting the interface will need to be disconnected
from the power to be reset).
4.
Disconnect the original LVDS connector from the Head Unit and connect it to the interface (part 3).
(THE LVDS CABLE MAY BE
CONNECTED TO THE VEHICLE SCREEN DEPENDING ON YOUR VEHICLE).
5.
Connect the new LVDS lead (Part 2) to Head Unit (OR SCREEN) as shown above.
6.
Disconnect the Quadlock connector from the head unit and fit the supplied Quadlock T-Lead as shown in part 1 of diagram.
7.
Connect the camera/cameras to the camera input harness (part 4) via the yellow phono connectors. If there is a front camera being
fitted that is not connected to a 12V ignition live power supply, the blue wire of part 4 will need to be connected to the front
camera power input. If these are used, ensure that the
power
connections are in series with a 1 Amp fuse.
This must be done using
heat shrink/self-amalgamating tape where appropriate to ensure an insulated and sealed connection.
8.
This harness also supplies an optional power output to the camera/cameras via the
red wire
. Connect this to the camera power
input
ONLY IF CAMERA DOES NOT ALREADY HAVE A POWER SUPPLY.
Again, using appropriate connections.
9.
Connect the black wire to a vehicle ground point.
10.
Cars with manual gears
will need the reverse trigger wire to be connected
. This should be wired into the reversing lights, hence
activating the camera when the car engages reverse.
11.
Test the interface fully, ensuring the camera/cameras function properly before refitting the head unit and screen.
Troubleshooting
•
Check that the Red wire is connected to a 12V ignition and not Permanent power if it has been used.
•
Ensure all connections are secure and well insulated.
•
Check that head-unit is earthed and the black wire is earth.
