System Fans
Six heavy-duty fans provide cooling for the chassis. These fans circulate air
through the chassis to lower the internal chassis temperature. Each fan unit is
made up of two fans joined back-to-back, which rotate in opposite directions.
This counter-rotating action generates exceptional airflow and works to dampen
vibration levels.
System Fan Failure
Fan speed is controlled by system temperature via IPMI software. If a fan fails,
the remaining fans will ramp up to full speed. Replace any failed fan at your
earliest convenience with the same type and model. Note that the system can
continue to run with a failed fan.
Note:
The part number for the Versio system fan is
131-100008Q01
.
Replace a System Fan
1
Turn off the power to the system and unplug the system from the outlet.
2
Remove the failed fan's power cord from the serverboard.
