Fan Module Replacement
The front fan modules are individually mounted and connected. An additional fan is located
next to the right power supply.
Follow these steps to remove and replace a fan:

Remove the X50 cover, as described on page 106, ensuring
both
power supplies are
disconnected

Snip and remove the plastic ties wraps holding the fan wires.

Carefully unplug the power connector for the failed fan.

Remove the two mounting screws for the failed fan, and then remove the fan.

Attach the new fan using the screws provided.

Attach the connector to the circuit board.

Carefully bundle and re-wrap the wires through the metal holders, ensuring that no wires
contact the blades of the fans.

Replace the cover as described earlier, and then re-attach the two power cords.
