Chapter 1: Introduction
Product Description
The BCA4/4Z Four-Channel Digital-to-Analog Converter
converts two AES inputs to four analog audio output channels. All
versions support either unbalanced or balanced AES inputs, and
balanced analog outputs. These options are all set via jumpers on the
board itself. The DAC6800
+
BCA4Z outputs 600 ohms output
impedance.
These modules can be monitored locally via the card edge, or remotely
with control software applications such as CCS
TM +Pilot Lite™, CCS™
Pilot™, and CCS Navigator™, or control panels LCP-3901-1U and
RCP-CCS-1U, or other CCS-compliant products.
Two module types are available:

DAC6800
+
BCA4 has two AES inputs and four analog audio
output channels at 66 ohms.
• DAC6800
+
BCA4Z has two AES inputs and four analog audio
output channels at 600 ohms.
The back connectors require two frame slots within an FR6802
+
frame
(there is no backward-compatibility provided for use with 6800/7000
series frames).

Supports 32 kHz to 96kHz sampling frequency
• 16, 20 or 24 bit audio processing
• Analog output levels of:

16,18, 20, 22, 24, 26 and 28 dBu (66 ohms)
• 10,12, 14, 16, 18, 20 and 22 dBm (600 ohms)
• Integrated remote PC-based control capability (using CCS control
software and control panels)
• Card edge control
• LEDs for AES input presence and AES input errors
• Four analog audio output channels (66 ohms or 600 ohms)
• Two jumper selectable AES balanced or unbalanced inputs
