Test Ethernet connection

After setting the IP addresses and the subnet mask on the PDM and computer the connection 
between your computer and the PDM can be established and tested. 

►

  Check the correct cable connection between both devices: 

>  OK if the orange LED beside the network connector lights or flickers. 

 

 

Test Ethernet via PING function

  Activate the Windows command line with [Start] > [All Programs] > [Accessories] > [Command 

prompt]. 

►

  After the prompt "

" enter: 

ping 192.168.082.247

 [Enter] 

Enter here the actual IP address of the PDM. 

>  The operating system of the computer tries four times in succession to transmit a 32-byte long test 

data package to the device.  

>  If the connection is ok, the following message appears four times: 

Reply from 192.168.82.247: bytes = 32 time = 1 ms TTL = 252

 

followed by a statistics. In the network the indicated time may vary. 

>  If no connection was established, the following message appears four times: 

Destination host unreachable.
