CAN in the PDM360
CAN POUs to CANopen
243
Overview
7780
Master / slave
7771
For a CAN channel the controller is either running in master or in slave operation. Combined operation
is not intended. The function blocks derive from the configuration data whether the controller is
operated as master or as slave in the CAN network.
When being called, most of the function blocks listed herein do not differentiate whether the PLC is
operated as master or as slave. Only a few POUs are exclusively operated in slave mode.
SYNC functionality
7772
Regarding the SYNC functionality as slave the CAN stacks are asynchronous to the IEC application.
This means that the last valid data of the process image is transmitted at SYNC.
Extended CAN IDs
7775
CANopen does not provide any extended IDs.
