6.3 External illumination
An external illumination can be connected to facilitate object recognition.
Connect the external illumination to switching output OUT2 of the unit. The sensor triggers the
illumination independently or passes the trigger signal through to the external illumination unit.
Example of compatible illumination units: O2D9xx.
The internal and external lighting is switched on 500 µs before the image is taken. Switching on
prematurely does not affect the brightness of the captured image.

Example: With an integration time of 100 µs, the lighting is switched on for 600 µs.
Devices with infrared light
Devices with infrared light are equipped with a band-pass filter. Therefore, only external illuminations
with a wavelength range between 780 nm...880 nm can be used.
Devices with RGB-W
Devices with RGB-W illumination are not subject to any restrictions. Therefore, external illumination
can be used regardless of the wavelength range.
