The CPU, CPU cooling kit and DIMM are the most critical components of the PCIE-9650.

If one of these components is not installed the PCIE-9650 cannot run.

5.4.1 LGA775 CPU Installation

Enabling Hyper-Threading Technology on your system requires

meeting all of the platform requirements listed below:

CPU

: An Intel® Pentium 4 Processor with HT Technology

must be installed

Chipset

: An Intel® Chipset that supports HT Technology

(that has been met by the PCIE-9650)

: An operating system that has optimizations for HT

Technology

WARNING:

CPUs are expensive and sensitive components. When installing the

CPU please be careful not to damage it in anyway. Make sure the CPU

is installed properly and ensure the correct cooling kit is properly

installed.

The LGA775 socket is shown in Figure 5-1.
