How to: open and close left hand
door
1. The left side door is used for service
technicians when performing tasks such as
PC servicing and repair and should never
need to be accessed by operational staff.
The process is provided here in case an
item is dropped inside the kiosk and needs
to be retrieved.
2. Open the right hand door, open the
passport reader hood and fully slide out
the printer tray. The Power/PC Module
now needs to be released and swung
open.
3. Grasp and draw back on the silver pull and
the Power/PC module can now be swung
open, noting it is hinged at the rear.
4. Reach in from the right hand side behind
the fully open printer tray and locate the
left hand door securing latch (in green).
Grasp and rotate the latch to the left to
release. Some pressure may be needed
on the outside of the door to make it easier
to release.
5. The process to close and secure the left
hand door is to:
a. Ensure there are no cables,
clothing or foreign object that may
be caught when closing the door.
b. Push the door closed and reach in
through the open right door to
grasp and rotate the securing latch
to the right in order to secure the
door closed.
c. Test the door is closed by pushing
on it from the inside. The door
should not open and the latch
should be visually inspected that it
is in the fully closed position.
