. Using a Removable Device Storage with a Script
Description
•
Manage the content of the Main Media with the use of a storage device that contains a
management command script file and an update content. The file management commands are
executed with the reboot of the player when the storage device is plugged into the player.
Removable Device Storage with Script
Requirements
•
A computer with a text file editor to prepare a script file.
•
A third-party storage device with a script file (
script.txt
) and the update content.
•
The script file and the update content can optionally be compressed to a ZIP file using compatible
software. This ZIP file also may be password-protected.
Recommended usage
•
This method is recommended when the update is done with the use of a removable storage device,
when the player is not accessible through the network. Its also recommended for the preparation
before any installation and maintenance, player by player.

Recommended for the management of distant location players without an Ethernet connection

Procedure
1. On a computer, prepare a third-party storage device (an USB flash drive or a SD card):
•
Format the storage device following the instructions in Preparing a Storage Device (page 18).
•
Onto the storage device, copy a script file (
script.txt
) with its content or a zipped script file
(
script.zip
). In order to create a script file, please refer to Content Updates with the Use of
