Creating a Modbus Link with the PAC

Two of COM1 (RS-232), COM3 (RS-232/485), COM4 (RS-232) or expended COM5 can be used as
the Modbus Master port. When using COM3 (RS-485), one iP-8x47 can connect to several
devices.
Note:
Each device on the same RS-485 network must has a unique address (i.e., NET ID: 1 to
255) and the same baud rate settings.
When using COM1, COM3, or COM4 (RS-232) as the Modbus Master port, one I-8xx7 can
connect to one Modbus device. Note that COM1 is a Modbus Slave port by default so the user
can refer to section
Also, connect the COM4 port of the PAC to an I-7520R (RS-232/RS-485 converter). In this way,
one PAC can connect to several devices.
